چکیده

This paper concerns the robust tracking of some features extracted from a sequence of images taken with an uncalibrated camera mounted on a mobile robot. Unlike most vision systems, the 3D structure of the observed objects is completely unknown. Thus, position-based visual servoing cannot be used. Similarly, one must be careful when using image-based visual servoing since the depths of the features are unknown. On the other hand, 2 1 2 D visual servoing can easily deal with unknown environments since it is only based on projective reconstruction. In order to obtain a good projective reconstruction for a safe vision-based control, we propose in this paper a multi-scale real-time approach to extract robust features. Experiments show that our algorithm can be used in robotics applications when images are noisy and uncontrolled perturbations can break the continuity of the robot motion.

Features tracking for visual servoing purpose

Elaboration of objects tracking algorithms in image sequences is an important issue for research and application related to visual servoing and more generally for robot vision. A robust extraction and real-time spatiotemporal tracking process of visual cue is indeed one of the keys to success, or to failure, of a visual servoing task. To consider visual servoing within large scale applications,...

A heterogeneous distributed visual servoing system for real-time robotic assembly applications

We describe a multi-loop robotic control architecture that for the fine-motion control required for object tracking uses two different loops that depend on entirely different approaches for visual servoing. One tracking loop uses fast blob analysis of the camera images for servo control. The other tracking loop, which is more robust but slower, uses model-based line matchings for a more robust ...

Cue integration for visual servoing

The robustness and reliability of vision algorithms is, nowadays, the key issue in robotic research and industrial applications. To control a robot in a closed-loop fashion, different tracking systems have been reported in the literature. A common approach to increased robustness of a tracking system is the use of different models (CAD model of the object, motion model) known a priori. Our hypo...

Real-time Visual Servoing

This paper describes a new real-time tracking algorithm in conjunction with a predictive filter to allow real-time visual servoing of a robotic arm that is following a moving object. The system consists of two calibrated (but unregistered) cameras that provide images to a real-time, pipelined-parallel optic-flow algorithm that can robustly compute optic-flow and calculate the 3-D position of a ...

Design und Management komplexer technischer Prozesse und Systeme mit Methoden der Computational Intelligence Visual Servoing with Moments of SIFT Features

Robotic manipulation of daily-life objects is an essential requirement in service robotic applications. In that context image based visual servoing is a means to position the end-effector in order to manipulate objects of unknown pose. This contribution proposes a 6 DOF visual servoing scheme that relies on the pixel coordinates, scale and orientation of SIFT features. The control is based on g...
